My name is Ruaridh Hägglund, and I am currently a Phd-student at the Deparment of Fish, Wildlife, and Environmental Studies at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Umeå. Within the scope of my project I am studying how ecological restoration can be used to enhance the possibilities for biological diversity to recover after approximately one and a half centuries of industrial utilization of the Fennoscandian boreal forests. Species assemblages, species richness and abundances of saproxylic beetles and flat bugs are used as response variables in the evaluation of restoration success. For more information about the project please click on the My Phd-project tab or follow this link.
I try to keep the blog up-dated with news about my progress and other fun stuff that has to do with my Phd-project.
